‘Your Union – Your Voice – Your Vote’: NSUI

One of my main aims is to ensure that First keep their word and show changes promised at the DUSU Election. Some may not agree, but I believe that if we were to unite with Delhi University Students’ Union whilst dealing with common problems. First, we would be a stronger force, which would benefit all of us. I also plan on maintaining the great standards by which the existing president and vice-president have worked, by listening to what students have to say and working well with everyone around me.

As previously mentioned, the main role of this job is the welfare and representation of the University students, therefore there are several key ideas I would like to try and implement within the Union.

Although I strongly believe you shouldn’t set out making endless promises to deliver everything for all students, because firstly; it would be being dishonest to the student population, and secondly; it is completely unrealistic, I would be highly committed to being as professional & effective as possible to the student population and representing the University as a whole. I would like to work towards;

  • Campaign for a more cohesive interlinked union & university partnership (i.e. welfare, societies, services, student programs, academic boards and committees working together more effectively, and bridging the gap between Union and University).
  • To gather the university populations opinion and conduct feasibility studies on the proposed changes to the module scheme and work with the university to give the best education to its paying students.
  • Work with sabbaticals to develop and rejuvenate entertainment, sports and societies to rival larger and more established University.
  • To be constantly interacting, seeking student opinion. ‘If you could change one thing about Delhi University/Student life, what would it be?’
  • Increase all-round participation levels in all areas of the Union, the more people involved, the more we can achieve!
  • Support every student issue raised in an appropriate and satisfying manner.
  • To get subsidized pass for metro rail for students.
  • Better infrastructure especially better and more hostel and other basic amenities.
  • Setup good clinical facility for students in campus.
  • Scholarship for students.
  • Students’ insurance.
  • Delhi University student needs a good placement cell who will try to place every student and get right remuneration for them from companies.
  • Some student need to polish their English language skills. For them special classes or workshop will be organized.
  • I have been promoting a campaign to change the election from “pleas and favoritism” to one about “pledges”, that is, “If you elect me, I will bring benefits to your organization.”

I have also been involved with a NGO and am also aware of the dedication and time required for this post. I have previously juggled studying, working part-time, voluntary work and organizing events along with finding time for my other interests, which has helped me to develop my ability to divide my time wisely.

The University as an environment for working and self-development.

The University can only maintain its excellent reputation by creating equal opportunities. Equal opportunities, in the multitude of interpretations that the notion evokes, primarily mean equal opportunities for students to participate in studies and research.

Even within the constraints of the so-called mass university system it is possible to bring students and academic staff closer together, to create an effective and a natural communication space. One of the possibilities I see for this is to balance the mass lectures with seminars. However, the highly flexible e-study formats also hold out new opportunities which have so far not been fully taken advantage of.

Please do vote and I don't just mean for me but for anyone you support.
